At a glance

This policy lists the cookies and browser storage that removevideobg.net itself sets, what each one does, and how long it lasts.

  • What the site needs: signing in, Google sign-in and email verification use a few cookies that keep the site working. They are in Cookies for sign-in, security and preferences.
  • Advertising: the site does not show ads, and none of the cookies listed here is used for advertising.
  • Reward cookies: two cookies support the fairness limits of the invitation and daily rewards. They are not used for analytics or cross-site tracking. See Reward cookies.
  • Third parties: Cloudflare Turnstile and Stripe can set their own cookies on their own domains when you use those features. See Third-party cookies.
  • How long: the sign-in cookie lasts 7 days, the invitation cookie 30 days, and the reward browser identifier 1 year. Each cookie's lifetime is in Cookies for sign-in, security and preferences and Reward cookies.
  • Your choices: you control cookies in your browser settings, and blocking the sign-in cookie signs you out. See Your choices.

What cookies we use and why

RemoveVideoBG uses cookies to keep you signed in, protect sign-in, remember small display preferences, and apply the fairness limits of the reward programs. A cookie is a small text file your browser stores for a website and sends back with later requests. The same goes for similar browser storage, which is covered in Browser storage.

The lists on this page cover the cookies and browser storage that the site's own code sets. The site has no advertising cookies and no social-media sharing cookies of its own.

Cookies for sign-in, security and preferences

These cookies are set by our server or by the site's own scripts. None of them is used for advertising.

CookiePurposeLastsSet when
better-auth.session_tokenKeeps you signed in. HttpOnly, so page scripts cannot read it.7 days, renewed as you keep using the siteYou sign in or finish signing up
better-auth.stateProtects Google sign-in against forged requests. HttpOnly.5 minutesYou start signing in with Google
rvbg_auth_watchLets the "check your email" screen follow the verification request your browser made. HttpOnly and limited to the sign-in service path.1 hourYou sign up, ask for a new verification email, try to sign in before your email is verified, or open a verification link
rvbg-auth-hintA small flag that lets the navigation bar show you as signed in straight away. It holds no personal data.7 daysYour browser confirms you are signed in; removed when you sign out
localeRemembers the site language you last viewed. While the site is English-only, its value is en.1 yearOur server sets it when it returns a page to your browser
sidebar_stateRemembers whether the account sidebar is open or collapsed.7 daysYou open or collapse the sidebar

Over HTTPS, browsers list the first two names with a __Secure- prefix, and a Secure cookie is only sent over HTTPS. Without the session cookie the site cannot keep you signed in.

Reward cookies

Two additional cookies support the reward programs, so the fairness limits can be applied. Neither is used for advertising, analytics or cross-site tracking.

CookiePurposeLasts
reward_referralRemembers which invitation link brought you here, so the reward can be credited to the person who invited you. Contains only the 8-character invitation code and an expiry, signed so it cannot be altered. Set only when you open an invitation link while signed out, and removed once the invitation is redeemed or no longer valid.30 days
_reward_didA random identifier for this browser, signed by our server. It is used only to apply the fairness limits of the reward programs, for example to stop one browser from collecting the same daily reward on many accounts. It contains no information about you or your device.1 year

Both are HttpOnly (not readable by page scripts) and signed by our server, so their contents cannot be modified.

_reward_did is issued the first time your browser contacts our sign-in service. That can be as early as your first visit, because the navigation bar asks the service whether you are signed in, and it always happens before you sign up. You do not need to use any reward feature for it to be set.

Deleting reward_referral means we can no longer tell who invited you, so the invitation reward cannot be credited. Deleting _reward_did does not stop you using RemoveVideoBG.

The reward system does not calculate a browser fingerprint from hardware or browser characteristics. _reward_did is instead a random value our server issues and signs. Clearing it gives the browser a new random value, but does not erase account-based or network-based reward limits. The Privacy Policy describes the records behind those limits and how long they are kept.

Third-party cookies

Some features load a service run by another company. That company sets any cookies on its own domain, under its own policy, and we do not control them.

  • Cloudflare Turnstile runs a bot check on sign-up, password reset, resending a verification email, and sign-in after repeated failed attempts. It loads from challenges.cloudflare.com.
  • Stripe hosts the payment page you reach from pricing, at checkout.stripe.com. When you upgrade a subscription, the billing page also loads Stripe's card-confirmation script from js.stripe.com. Your card details go to Stripe and not to our servers.
  • Google handles the sign-in screen if you choose Google sign-in. That screen belongs to Google.

Browser storage

The site also keeps two items in your browser's storage, which behave like cookies but are not sent with every request.

ItemPurposeLasts
reward_device_init (local storage)Remembers that the reward browser identifier was already confirmed for your account, so the check is not repeated on every visit. Holds an internal account ID and a timestamp.Treated as stale after 12 hours
removevideobg:stale-client-chunk-reloaded (session storage)After a site update, reloads the page once if your browser still holds an old file, so it cannot reload in a loop.Until you close the tab

Your choices

You control cookies through your browser settings. The site has no cookie settings panel of its own.

  • Delete cookies: your browser lets you clear cookies for removevideobg.net at any time. Clearing the session cookie signs you out.
  • Block cookies: you can block all cookies or only third-party cookies. Blocking cookies stops the features that depend on them, starting with staying signed in.
  • Reward cookies: clearing them is safe. You lose invitation attribution if you clear reward_referral before redeeming, and the browser gets a new _reward_did.

Changes to this policy

When the cookies the site sets change, we publish the updated list on this page and change the date. This version replaces the earlier list with the cookies and browser storage the site's code sets, and corrects when the reward browser identifier is issued.
