About RemoveVideoBG
RemoveVideoBG is an online video background remover. You upload a clip, an AI model separates the subject from the scene around it, and you download a file with a real alpha channel — no green screen, no frame-by-frame masking, and no watermark added to the result.

Our mission
We want transparent video to be something you export from your browser, not a production task that needs a studio, a green screen, and an afternoon of rotoscoping.
Cutting a subject out of a video used to mean one of two things. Either you shot against a green screen and keyed it in an editor, which means owning the fabric, lighting it evenly, and re-shooting whenever a fold or a shadow ruins the key. Or you masked the subject by hand, frame by frame, which makes even a 30-second clip a long job.
Neither option is realistic for the people who need transparent video most: creators cutting themselves into a scene, marketers dropping a product shot onto a new background, teachers building lesson videos, small teams shipping ads without a post-production budget. Machine learning removed the technical reason those workflows had to be slow. We built RemoveVideoBG so the practical reason goes away too: upload a clip, download the result, and use it in an editor or web page that supports alpha.
RemoveVideoBG focuses on three jobs: removing the background from a clip, keying out a green screen you already shot, and taking the subject out of chroma key footage with no key color to pick.
What RemoveVideoBG does
It takes the background out of your video and returns the subject on a transparent or solid-color background, ready for a new scene.
The core tool is background removal. Upload a clip and download a transparent WebM. A transparent WebM carries a true alpha channel, so you can place it over a new scene in editors and web pages that support alpha. On the Ultra tier you can also export with a solid-color or green background built in, and keep the original audio.
Beyond background removal itself, the green screen remover and the chroma key remover each have a dedicated page, linked below.
The Key facts above list the upload limits and what each tier adds.
How the background removal works
RemoveVideoBG processes your clip in the cloud with a hosted AI model that separates the subject from the background, and the result comes back to your account.
Nothing runs on your own computer: you upload the clip from your browser, the cloud service does the processing, and you preview and download the finished file from your account.
The workflow has four steps. Sign in and upload a clip from your browser, choose a tier, wait for the processing to finish, then preview the result and download it.
Basic works up to 1080p and Pro adds 4K for clips up to 3 minutes, while Ultra adds solid-color exports for clips up to 1 minute.
For the cleanest result, choose footage with a clearly visible subject and even lighting; a steady shot with good separation from the background gives the model the most to work with. Use the preview to check the result before it goes into your final edit.
What happens to your videos
Your clip is uploaded to private storage and processed in the cloud by a third-party AI processing provider, and RemoveVideoBG does not use uploads to train its own models.
Uploads and results sit in private storage and are not publicly accessible; you preview and download from your browser.
Background removal runs on a third-party AI processing provider. When you submit a clip, the provider fetches it through a temporary link that expires and returns the processed result. We use uploaded videos to produce the result you asked for and to fix problems with it, and RemoveVideoBG does not use them to train its own models; the provider handles the video under its own terms.
A daily cleanup job removes uploaded source files that are more than 24 hours old. Processed results stay in your account, ready to download from your history, for as long as the account exists. Deleting your account removes every result, and the privacy policy lists the schedule.
You can delete your account yourself from the Security page in your account settings. We email a confirmation link first, stop renewals and close open checkouts, and then remove your account, videos, and results. A few records, such as anonymized payment records, are retained as the privacy policy explains.
Payment details are handled by the payment processor, and card numbers do not pass through our servers. The privacy policy is the authoritative description of how personal data is handled.
How we think about pricing
Background removal costs credits, and the credit cost scales with the length of the clip and the tier you choose.
Credits are used per second of video, so a short clip costs less than a long one instead of carrying a flat per-file charge. The tier you choose also affects the rate, so the same clip can cost a different number of credits on Basic, Pro, or Ultra.
Credits come as monthly or yearly subscriptions and as one-time packs. Annual plans grant the same monthly credit allowance as monthly plans, so the yearly discount is on the price, not on what you receive. Credits from subscriptions and packs do not expire, so packs suit occasional projects and subscriptions suit regular work.
New accounts receive free credits, so you can run a clip of your own through the tool. Running your own footage shows what the output looks like for your project.
How we keep this page current
The formats and limits on this page are checked against what the product enforces, and the date at the top records when the page was last reviewed.
The byline at the top of this page, and on every tool page, shows who the content is attributed to and when it was last checked. File sizes, clip lengths, resolutions, and export formats quoted on the site are compared with the limits the product applies before a page is published.
If something here does not match what you see in the product, tell us through the contact page; corrections are handled like any other support message.
Frequently asked questions
Support is one email away, new accounts receive free credits, and the answers below cover formats, video handling, refunds, and account deletion.
Email support@removevideobg.net or use the form on the contact page, which lists what to include for each kind of question.
Yes — new accounts receive free credits once the email address is verified, so you can test the tool on your own footage. Welcome credits are valid for 30 days after they are credited, the credit quote is shown before each run, and the pricing page lists the plans and credit packs for when you need more.
Uploads accept MP4, MOV, or WebM files up to 100 MB. Every tier exports a transparent WebM, and the Ultra tier also exports MP4 or MOV on a solid-color or green background.
Your video is uploaded to private storage, and a third-party AI processing provider handles the processing. A daily cleanup clears source files once they are older than 24 hours, results stay in your account, and the privacy policy has the full details.
Credits held for a video that fails to process are returned to your balance automatically, and credit purchases themselves are final, as the pricing FAQ explains. If a result comes out wrong because of a problem on our side, email support with the details, and once we verify it we will return the credits that were wasted.
Sign in, choose Delete Account on the Security page in Settings, and confirm through the link we email you; the privacy policy lists what is removed and what is kept.

Support covers video problems, billing, account and privacy questions, and partnership and media inquiries.
If a video came out wrong, tell us the tool, the format and length of the clip, and when it happened; that shows us which footage the model handles least well.
